Topic: Stay Away from Sin

Bible Verse: Romans 6:12 (KJV)
“Let not sin therefore reign in your mortal body, that ye should obey it in the lusts thereof.”

Today’s Message:
Sin desires to dominate, but the believer has been given authority through Christ to say no. Paul reminds us that although sin once ruled us, it no longer has the right to reign. We have been set free, not just from sin’s penalty, but from its power.

Staying away from sin is not just about self-discipline — it’s about devotion. The closer you draw to God, the less appealing sin becomes. Holiness isn’t about rules; it’s about relationship. When you truly love God, you hate what separates you from Him.

Every compromise weakens your spiritual guard. Every little indulgence opens a door. But when you choose purity, you protect your power, preserve your witness, and please the heart of God. Sin always takes you further than you intended to go — so don’t entertain it, don’t excuse it, and don’t return to it. You’ve been called to live free.

Other Bible Reference: 1 Thessalonians 5:22 (KJV)
“Abstain from all appearance of evil.”

Prayer:
Holy God, Cleanse my heart and guard my steps. Give me the strength to turn from sin and the desire to pursue righteousness. Let my life reflect Your holiness. Where there is weakness, be my strength. Where there is temptation, be my escape. I refuse to let sin reign in my body — I choose to walk in purity, truth, and love. Keep me near the cross and far from compromise. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
